WHOIS Lookup

Tool WHOIS Lookup

Who owns a domain or an IP address?

Enter a domain name to see its registrar, registration and expiry dates, and name servers, or an IPv4 or IPv6 address to see the network it belongs to.

About the WHOIS Lookup

WHOIS is the public directory of who holds a domain name or an IP address. A WHOIS lookup shows the registrar a domain was bought through, the dates it was registered, last updated and is due to expire, its status codes, and the name servers it points to. For an IP address it shows the regional internet registry (such as ARIN, RIPE NCC or APNIC) and the organization the address block belongs to.

This tool asks the authoritative registry directly and follows its referral to the registrar, so you see the same record the registry holds. Many registrars now hide personal contact details for privacy, so the owner may appear as "REDACTED FOR PRIVACY"; the registrar, dates and name servers are always shown.

Frequently asked questions

Enter the domain in the WHOIS lookup above. The record shows the registrar and, where the owner has not chosen privacy protection, the registrant's name or organization. If the details are redacted, you can contact the owner through the registrar listed in the record.

Look up the domain and find the "Registry Expiry Date" (or "Expiration Date") line in the record. It shows the date by which the domain must be renewed.

Yes. Enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address to see which network it belongs to, the organization it is allocated to, and the regional registry that manages it.
